Bring back the chairs at Beach Burger!

Author Andrew    Category Uncategorized     Tags

Recently the chairs have been removed from one of my favorite burger places in Norwalk, CT called "The Beach Burger."

The Owners of The Beach Burger were recently forced by the city of Norwalk and the nearby competition, Harbor Lights and Overtons, to remove the chairs from their establishment because the burger place is zoned for take-out only. However, they have the required amount of parking spaces, ample street parking and plenty of extra parking next door at Mr. Frostys. Please sign my petition to tell the city of Norwalk to bring back the chairs and prevent this business from relocating.

Classic case of greed... bring back the chairs!

Elizabeth Thibault,
We didn't come this past weekend, because we didn't know what we would do with our 15 month old son's booster seat while we ate. Instead we went to the Shake Shack in Westport. Is this what the Norwalk City Hall wants to see continue to happen?

Sean Holm,
Here's my support for delicious and fair competition.

xxxxxxxx,
This is a personal vendetta against the owner of Beach Burger, and I find it to be absolutely ridiculous! There is plenty of room in norwalk for other restaurants.

Elizabeth Hilts,
Dear City of Norwalk, let's support this much-needed local business.

The Beach Burger is a great new asset to East Norwalk. The food is good, and the decor is modern and tasteful. The bar seating provides an opportunity to enjoy the cool atmosphere that the owners have created. City officials, please don't ruin this great improvement to East Norwalk.

xxxxxxxx,
Is Overtons really that worried that The Beach Burger will take away their customers? They should be!

This comment comes from Anthony Luciani in response to AnaMaria's comment:
Due to multiple complaints on the property of 6 1st street,
Zoning requested a full inspection of the property where mr
Frostys is located along with a warehouse, sign shop, and 4 rental garages(licated under the sign shop)
These are all Located on one property. During the inspection, we were unable
To obtain access to one of the rental garages under the sign shop because we could
Not reach the tenant for permission. The landlord of the property,
Not Mr Frostys or Anthony Luciani is working to gain access to the last garage for
Inspection to clear up this violation.

AnaMaria,
I saw your petition "bring back the chairs at the beach burger" and before I wanted to partake in this petition, I wanted to research what this was all really about. I happened to stumble upon Planning and zoning COMPLAINTS AND VIOLATIONS that not only is Beach Burger in violation BUT ALSO 6 First St. Mr Frostys which is also owned by Mr. Luciani is in violation as well. You Expanded your seating without permits as well as not allowing inspection by zoning. So if Mr. Luciani thinks he can do whatever he wants in Norwalk we should start another petition for Mr. Frostys because before we know it, you'll also be accusing harbor lights and overtons of a problem that is so visibly yours. You can't expect to break the zoning rules and not pay for the consequences. There is no one to blame but yourself.

xxxxxxxx,
It's too bad that being successful in Norwalk depends on who you know and not what you have to offer.

What ever happened to fair enterprise.

xxxxxxxx,
Love their food, kept the chairs!

xxxxxxxx,

Dee Stefanou,
When you try to ruin good people around you because of paranoia or insecurity,it only backfires. Put the chairs back and leave this business alone!!!!

Stacy Infantas,

Penny Parker,
Bring the chairs back.

Aimee Nastu,
This is ridiculous! The only reason they are doing this is because Beach Burger blows Overtons out of the water!!! They should really stop being so spiteful, they are going to lose the few custoners they do have left! What about their plan to put an ice cream place across from Mr.Frosty, did they realize it would probably backfire on them?!?

p Aymerich,
Bring the stools back and stop stifling businesses in Norwalk with obvious politics.

Cathy Jones,
Overtons has picnic tables why can't Beach Burger have chairs for their patrons? That is totally ridiculous. There are plenty of customers for everyone in East Norwalk. This is just being petty and small.

Andrew Dominick,
Many of you have seen my post on this issue, so you know how I feel. Bring the stools back!

Charlotte,
Maybe we should stop frequenting Harbor Lights and Overtons until The Beach Burger gets back their chairs. You know what they say about karma.....

Lisa O\'M,
I agree. Most take out type places have some seating. Why should the patron's not have a place to sit if they choice to. It's competition and a business should not punished this way. Let the food speak for itself. If it's not good, they will close. If not, then they are an asset to the town.

Amanda,
Good luck Anthony.

I would think the City of Norwalk would encourage new businesses to open and be successful. Besides, competition is good for business, well good for those that have nothing to hide!

Greg Berger,

Giovanni Sornatale,
The food at Overtons is dog food. It would be in the cities best interest to help a restaurant with edible food stay in business, not one that serves sewage on a bun.

Alexa Papp,

Jim Nichols,
I know there zoning laws for restaurants, but this is a rediculous situation that shows that laws have unintended consequences. In this case there is plenty of street parking and Beach Zburger should have chairs for patrons.

Chelsea Phillips,

Brian Boland,
My family loves Beach Burger! There's plenty of room for BB, Mr Frosty's, Harbor Lights and Overton's to coexist.

Dianna Santora,
No reason why they should be forced to remove their seating...they are the best thing that has happened to the area in a long time. Food is delicious and a little healthy competition should be welcomed.

The Beach Burger is a wonderful addition to this town don't drive it out of business because other businesses feel threatened by the competition. Also, isn't this discriminating against people who walk? Why shouldn't they be allowed to sit down and enjoy a meal as well? Every other "take out" establishment has some kind of seating, why should Beach Burger be any different?

xxxxxxxx,
Pathetic. There is room for both of your businesses. I'll no longer support either Harbor Lights or Overton's any more. Ever since they put up a sign across the street from Frosty's about opening another ice cream place, I was done with them. Grow up. Norwalk, do the right thing.

xxxxxxxx,

Kristina,

Peter Callahan,
Stop with the dirty politics!!!!!!!

David Marcus,
I like to ride my bike to the Beach Burger. City of Norwalk, please explain why I'm not allowed to sit down?

Sue Przybisiki,
Great place...can't believe they are taking away the chairs.
Why would the city do this to a person trying to run a super
Restaurant in this economy. I remember original
Place and it had a soda bar "with chairs"

Cory Burns,

Debbie Burns,

arnie arnold,
try to give this a small bussiness a break our city needs more places like this one

Maggie Brucker,

Dan and Kristien Del Ferraro,
Let them eat bread...with burgers in between. And lots of great milkshakes. I'd love to be able to eat outside. Do it right Norwalk.

jen,
Ridiculous! Give them back the chairs!!!

Sean Sullivan,
That is just silly he has the parking next door, just let him have some tables. Competition is healthy. Overtons is just mad because their food is nasty and no one likes to go there since the new owners took over a few years back.

xxxxxxxx,

Janet Bacco,
There is room for more than 1 burger place. Overton's should have better business morals!!!

Andy McClellan,
So the city of Nowalk aaaaand Harbor Lights Aaaanddd Overtons made Beach Burger take down their chairs? Something smells fishy to me boys, and it ain't low tide. God save the Beach Burger, they got darn good food. Norwalk, stop trying to keep the man down!

Nancy LaRosa,

xxxxxxxx,

xxxxxxxx,
The Beach Burger offers something I can't get at either Overton's or Harbor Lights -- premium burgers in a fun environment.

xxxxxxxx,
This is ridiculous.

Cameron Prescott,
This is blasphemy!

mimi grossmann,
Ridiculous. Maybe we should buy a beach burger and go to overtons, purchase a soda and eat at their tables!!! good luck beach burger.
